Mexican mercado bags are made by weaving plastic tape onto a wooden mold, similar to weaving a basket.
All products are produced by hand by basket makers and prison inmates.

The material is recycled plastic.
We process plastic bottle caps collected from all over Mexico into string and reuse them.

The main production areas for Mercado bags are Oaxaca and Guadalajara.

The tape from Guadalajara that we have selected is a little thicker than the one from Oaxaca. It is characterized by a sturdy structure that stands on its own when placed on the floor, giving it an impression more similar to a basket.

The main feature of vinyl material is that it is washable. You can use it for shopping or takeout on rainy days without worrying about getting it dirty.
Even if you don't feel comfortable putting wet things in it while going to the gym or swimming, this bag will do the trick. Even if sand gets in it, you can wash it off in the shower, making it perfect for leisure activities such as parks and beaches.

The durability of the bottom so it won't sink is also a reliable feature of vinyl. It will not lose its shape even if you put a lot of things in it .
