It's not just design, it's not just sustainable,
I thought it would be great if we had more clothing options that could satisfy both of those needs, so I started making clothing in India that emphasizes handiwork, natural materials, and vegetable dyeing.
A plant-dyed reversible jacket made from luxurious Indian linen.
Plant dyeing is Natural colors dyed with natural dyes such as madder and charcoal .
At our local partner's workshop, the madder roots are placed on a tree and crushed with stones to make a powder into a dye.
Separate the marigold petals one by one and dry them.
Since no chemical dyes are used, it takes time and effort, but the natural color is attractive.
Linen is made from a plant called flax. The 100% linen fabric has a natural to slightly grayish color, and you can enjoy the texture of linen.
The other side is a charcoal gray color made from a 50% linen/50% cotton fabric dyed primarily with charcoal.
The beautiful plant-dyed colors are accented with flexible linen piping and strings.
Since it is reversible with no front or back , the washing instructions are sewn into the pocket.
The linen and cotton are soft to the touch, and the filling is made of 50% organic cotton and 50% organic cotton, which is stuffed between two pieces of cloth without using any chemical fibers.
The hemming and quilting are applied in 1mm increments, and both types of fabric are used on the inside of the pockets, giving attention and effort to even the invisible parts.
It's layered with linen and cotton, so it's firm and feels a little stiff at first, but the more you wear it, the softer it becomes and adapts to your body shape. It feels even better when it becomes sticky and soft.
