These tote bags are hand-woven in San Andres Larraínsar, a small village in the mountains of Mexico.

It is also called a hammock bag because it uses the same method to make a hammock.

It has been popular since we started selling it about 6 years ago.

Hammock bags are woven using a method called koshibata, in which a loom is fixed to a pillar or the like and tied around the waist, and woven by hand.

Since it does not require a large loom and can be done under the eaves of a house, it is one of the typical handicrafts of the Mayan people living in Mexico and Guatemala, who can do it while doing housework or babysitting.

The warp threads at the end of the weaving are twisted and connected to the handle, so the bag and handle are one in the same.

Material Wool No lining.

Due to the nature of the material, it may shrink when washed. Since it is made of natural wool, there may be some odor at first, but it will subside after airing a few times. For daily care, spray with clothing spray, air out, and dry in the sun on a sunny day. We recommend hand washing or dry cleaning during the off-season. To prevent the threads on the handle from fraying, please store them folded so that they do not get caught.
